Hootsuite Amplify
Hootsuite is the leading social media management platform used by 18 million+ users and 800+ companies in the Fortune 1000. Hootsuite Amplify is the company’s social selling and employee advocacy product, that helped the company become the Forrester Wave Leader in Social Selling.
During my tenure as a software engineer in Hootsuite Labs, an entrepreneurial organization within the company charged with fostering innovation & developing new products, I was one of the early team members building this product. It was a great experience getting a new product to market and seeing it succeed. I did everything from talking to customers to translate their needs into requirements to designing the architecture of the software to actual development work. This product went on to sell millions in year 1 and social selling eventually ended up being one of the two solution spaces the company focused on, the other being social media marketing.
Some of the things I did:
- Developed Hootsuite Amplify mobile apps for iOS and Android
- Worked on the Amplify back-end and the push notification infrastructure
- Designed and built a new external API for Amplify enterprise customers
